Instead, approach any questions you have about the equivalent or debt to the group identified on the notice.
Ive gotten this summary and Im really certain I dont owe kid await or loans or anything of which nature. Has anybody else gotten this? I called and they pronounced it was only a idea or to be wakeful of it. Id conclude any feedback . . . Thx Brad.

If you don’t owe any child support or owe the state any traffic fines or late fees of any kind, you must call the IRS right away and have them identify who it is they think you owe. They do make mistakes, but they will not openly admit it if you say nothing. If you did not have a refund, they may even go after your paycheck and it will show on you credit report. Call them ASAP and resolve this, they don’t mess around and are slow to correct errors if you are not on top of this.
The word “may” means “might or might not”. It does not mean “will”. It means that if you have a past due obligation such as child support, another federal agency debt, or state income tax, then your refund might be reduced. It also means that if you do not have a past due obligation such as child support, another federal agency debt, or state income tax, then your refund will not be reduced.
I agree with Both top answers, only one thing. There is something on your record that said you owe something and you better pay it fast or they will deduct from you refund. There is no maybe if it exists.
Yes I did, and when I recieved my return I was short money. Like $3500 worth. I called and I was told that if I had any money removed that I would recieve a letter explaining who and why, but I know that I don’t owe and back taxes, child support, or anything else. I’m just not understanding this!

MY YOUNGER SISTER RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE FROM THE I.R.S TODAY, SHE DOESN’T OWE ANY CHILD SUPPORT AND AS A MATTER OF FACT SHE DOESN’T HAVE ANY CHILDREN NOR HAS SHE EVER FILED WITH ANYONE EVER IN HER LIFE!! SHE IS VERY UPSET AND CAN NOT CONTACT THE I.R.S !!
this is a generic wright up .It is on ALL messages from the IRS when you check the status of your refund. Dont worry
