But it's pretty easy to verify! Call 1-800-304-3107. That's the FMS Autoresponder. You punch in your SSN and some other identifying information and it will tell you if you are flagged for offset and if so for how much and for what reason. Nomally you would receive a letter from FMS in November or December if your account was flagged for offset along with the amount and the contact information for the agency that was collecting it so that you could verify the debt.
